Horrible Service Levin Furniture


My husband and I have recently bought over $4,000 worth of furniture from Levin within the last 10 months, including a recliner we are suppossed to pick up this week. Our couch and loveseat combo we bought in August 2011 busted within 6 months. Recently we just had a repair man come out who agreed that both mechanisms on our couch/recliner are busted and all the cushions on the couch and loveseat lift each time you sit on them. You have to manually fix them each time you sit on the couch and they still stick up looking horrible and cheap.

The service department told me that even though all the cushions are all lifted (they said it's part of the "design" ) and that both sides of our big couch have busted mechanisms (which mean they sit sideways and are unusable) they will not return it for store credit nor replace it. They will "fix it," but this part really got us...it is out of warranty in 2 months, so if it happens again we get the parts for free and can either do it ourselves or pay for someone to fix it!!! THAT IS RIDICULOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE. I can't imagine a "repair" is going to hold very long and to know that then we have to pay to have it fixed is crazy. The LEAST they could do is replace the couch and give us another year warranty. By the time they get someone out here to "repair" it the 1st warranty may already be up. My husband and I are ridiculously upset with this horrible service to loyal customers. Not only have we spent thousands at Levin in the last year, yet we have referred 3 other clients who have also purchased furniture.

I talked to both a service person and the manager and they still said they will only do the repair. Again, the LEAST they could do is replace it and give us another years warranty.

I just spoke with a customer service person at Levins after they sent a tech out to look at my 1 yr old couch. I felt like I was spoken to in a condescending manner, like I was stupid. My complaint re: the couch was that fiber fill came thru the slip cover because there was no undercovering to keep fiberfill in place. They said it was all dog hair and that they never had had complaints on this model before. Needless to say there was nothing they could do so I am stuck with a couch that has white fiberfill coming thru the slip cover. Last thing I will be buying from this store!!! I felt as if the complaint was not handled with respect but I was meant to fell like a goof ball trying to get something for free!!! grrrr.
